Why Apothecary Ales?

Set up by pharmacist Anthony Holmes in 1998, Apothecary Ales was inspired by his personal interest in regional ales, which goes back to his origins in the historic market town of Cockermouth on the edge of the Lake District.

Cockermouth is also home to the famous Jennings Brewery, which has been brewing beers there since the 19th century.
